Sponsoring and Funding
As with all organizations that offer a service such as this, we need funding.
Freemasonry, specifically The Neil and Willa Jean Smalley Children’s Dyslexia Center Valley of Dayton, provide most of our funding, and the source of this is donations.
While all contributions benefit children with dyslexia, donors to the The Neil and Willa Jean Smalley Children’s Dyslexia Center Valley of Dayton can designate how they want their gifts to be used.
The Neil and Willa Jean Smalley Children’s Dyslexia Center Valley of Dayton is exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service and all contributions are tax deductible.
Donations to the CDC Dyslexia Walk are treated as contributions to The Neil and Willa Jean Smalley Children’s Dyslexia Center Valley of Dayton, a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, and they may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Contributors should consult their tax advisor.
Suggested levels of giving are based on national norms for Learning Centers. They are:
$500 – Bronze
$1000 – Silver
$3000 – Gold
$5000 – Platinum

Restricted and In-kind Donations
Companies and individuals interested in making sponsorship contributions for specific purposes or offering products or services to the walk in exchange for sponsorship recognition should contact the Chair of the Walk Steering Committee. While all offers are appreciated, the decision on whether to accept a restricted or in-kind offer will be made by the Committee on a case by case basis.
